I’m killing GrowthKB and GiftKB to pursue another niche, which is a passion of mine for a very long time – productivity. It will be under ProductiveKB.
Why kill GiftKB? Well, I was only in it for the money. Nothing else. And it was painful for me to even work on the first article.
As for GrowthKB, I actually gave it some thought. I realized on my way back from Lisbon that I am not ready to put out digital marketing tutorials or thought leadership pieces as a marketer.
Yes, I have the knowledge. I have the experience. And I even have things to say about how the industry is developing.
It’s just that marketing as a topic doesn’t excite me anymore. I get more excited when I’m actually building and growing web properties about a topic that I care about. And looking at the things that I’m reading and spending time on, productivity, software and apps specifically, have been a passion of mine that never went away.
GrowthKB might come back to life in a few months.
But one thing is for sure, it will only be back when I finally have a site with a sizable audience and revenue significant enough to support my current lifestyle.
Deep down, I really, REALLY want a case study of I turn something from scratch into a remarkable web property with my marketing skills.
To some, this may seem like a weird obsession of mine. I probably don’t need it with where I’m at with my career. But I believe it will be a great testament for my capabilities as a marketer.
