in Weekly Biz Buzz

Weekly Biz Buzz is here again, bringing small business owners and entrepreneurs the tips that they should care.

How was your week as a small business owner or entrepreneur? Is your business doing good? Are you able to keep up with your projects?

The week is a little stupid for me. On Tuesday, I carelessly deleted a huge portion of my to-do list items on Remember The Milk and on the next day, I had no idea what to do because I depend on to-do list a lot. Do you maintain a to-do list? If yes, what is your level of dependence on it?

To-Do List

Let us now look at what are some of the biz buzz that I have for you today.

Wayne Liew Dot Com Updates

Social media marketing is still a field where most small business owners are unfamiliar with. Apart from my previous social media errors blog post, I posted another social media blog post which focuses on 10 Ideas for Small Business to Launch Social Media Campaigns.

Also, I interviewed Steve Chou, who is working a full time job, running a wedding linens store and giving out great content on his online retailing blog over at MyWifeQuitHerJob.com. The interview inspires you to work hard and it gives you a brief look into how is it like to run an online retail business.

There are more great contents coming up next week and to make sure that you get a weekly digest of all the blog posts published, kindly subscribe to Wayne Liew Dot Com Newsletter by submitting your name and email address using the form below.

Myths About Sleep and Quick Fix for Entrepreneurs

If you are an entrepreneur like me who doesn’t mind sacrificing sleeping hours just to get something done, 8 Myths About Sleep and How to Make the Quick Fix written by Mike Michalowicz is a must read.

Sleep While Working

Working more hours doesn’t mean that you are going to get closer to your goals faster. Efficiency drops when you are tired and mistakes often happen when you are unable to focus due to lack of sleep. Do yourself a favor tomorrow (Sunday), sleep for at least 8 hours. ;)

More Tips to Use LinkedIn Better

Every business owner, professionals and entrepreneurs should have a LinkedIn profile. Apart from basic networking, LinkedIn can also be used as a platform to find potential employers, suppliers, service providers, investors and even partners. Network with me on LinkedIn if you have an account.

To be honest, I have been on LinkedIn for a few months but I really have no clue, yet, on how to fully maximized what I can do with it as compared to Twitter.

This week, Scott Allen wrote 7 Ways to Have Character (and Show It) on LinkedIn. He pointed out a few simple things that you can do in order to become a better LinkedIn member and add value to the connections that you created on the site.

Personal Branding for Small Business – How?

I have always been an advocate that small business owners should stay close to their customers and be adaptive to their needs. Why? Because customers and prospects always refer small businesses to their respective owners. It is the “intimacy” that brings them back to the business over and over again.

How are you going to achieve that? Pamela Slim wrote an interesting blog post with the title, 5 Ways to Amp Up the Personal in Your Brand. The most important thing here is to be comfortable with yourself and don’t fake things! Pamela closed the blog post with the sentence below, which I think is very true:

You do not have to share your entire personal life to have great personal brand. You just need to show up fully, clearly and passionately in your business.

What’s Your Next Step?

It is important to have short term goals for your business apart from the long term plans. What are you going to do with your business this week in order to take it to greater heights? Also, what do you think is the most important business lesson that you learned this week?

Feel free to post your answers in the comments section below. Why? Hearing from you is priceless. ;)
