Wayne Liew Dot Com not DYING!

December16

I am frustrated but at the same time laughed when I received this e-mail from George DK which I guess is one of my readers.

Wayne,

I hope you are not interrupted my this e-mail of mine.

I noticed that you are starting to slow down in terms of posting. I read in one of your articles, Characteristics of a Dying Blog and you said in it that a blog which the blogger is missing in action is a dying one.

I am sure George will not be expecting this post. My alternate day posting and my lagging behind in comment marketing is due to the following reasons and I don’t think I will give up this blog just yet!

What is holding me back?

Since my holiday in June 2007, I hardly get a long holiday until for these few weeks after my college examination. This sudden opportunity of ample free time has made me slowed down in life.

The things that I get caught up with which had give me this hiccup in Wayne Liew Dot Com Blogging Tips Blog are as follows:

  • Launch of an affiliate marketing site
  • Writing projects
  • Offline marketing and self-improvement books to read
  • Taking a break
  • Online game

This holiday season supposedly is to let me catch up on everything I do but instead, I have been going too far in putting things into my task list. I will kick  away online gaming next week and you should see this blogging tips and guides blog running at full capacity.

Readers Response Please

First of all, thanks for all my readers who keep returning to check out whether there are any new post and also to my subscribers who gave me a chance by not unsubscribing from my feeds. Also thanks to George for notifying me about the seriousness of my absence.

Have you ever been complacent about your blog achievement? I have been swayed away by other activities and from next week, hopefully, Wayne Liew Dot Com will be back to normal. What do you have to say about this?

I dont mind you taking a break from time to time. Heck they are so many posts here it would take me days to read all of them.

“Have you ever been complacent about your blog achievement?”
 Don’t understand this question.
Do you have another word to put it?

Well, I did noticed that you are kinda slowing down with your new posts and replies to existing posts.

So I figured that you must be caught up with activities in the physical realm.
    No worries there.

One has two worlds to attend to, the physical realm (our default realm) and of course the cyberspace (an optional alternative realm).

    Cheers! :D

I think taking a rest is fine.. especially you have a college examination to take :P That’s more important!

Taking a short or long break has always been my blog’s characteristic. Although I am not suggesting that you take a break, but sometimes taking a break can do you good. You get your mind off blogging and when you come back, you noticed you have renewed energy to write awesome posts.

    @ Neotrepreneur
 I hope my archived articles are good enough to keep my readers.

    @ Deimos
Complacent means start to relax after getting a result. I wil try to use simpler terms next time to suit this blog into the tagline.

My life is still revolving around Internet, just not too focused on this blog. Things have been starting out at the same time and this is why I start to get lazy a bit.

    @ Fluffy
It is a sure thing that you won’t see me posting after a post weekly. I still love the topic on this blog and I got a lot more to show you guys and girls.

    @ KSS
Thanks. I guess I have enough rest for now. If this goes on, probably you guys will take a rest from visiting my site instead.

    @ kljs
Yeah! What a supporting comment and it is true indeed. I am ready to go again!

    @ dicky
It depends on the demand of your niche. If you are writing a gardening blog for example, your posting frequency can be really low since readers (old age or relaxed personality people) will not rush for something new.

    @ keeyit
Thanks. I will have enough rest. I guess I am becoming fatter.

I laughed out loud when I saw the email from George, apparently he doesn’t understands u well. With your spirit and planning, I don’t see your blog dying anyhow!

We all need a break at a point right ? I know I desperately need one urgently, this has been a exhausting year, with exams and loads of online projects to complete. Luckily the Christmas and New Year parties will make for it, or at least try to.

aiya, we all know that Wayne Liew is a hardworking one with huge determination! Gotta be impress by ur consistency of 1 post per day, that is quite outstanding for me. I think resting for a day is really a normal thing for me! 1 day 1 post is really tiring IMO, I would really suggest Wayne to slow down a little for taking a good rest and doing other activities.

I use to post 4-5 per week, but now i down to 3-4 already, im dying too

  12. On December 19th, 2007 at 8:38 pm Wayne Liew Says:

    @ yung .
Thanks yung . You really do understand me!

    @ Tibi Puiu
Get yourself a holiday on both Christmas and New Year. It will definitely helps you to do things better.

    @ jayhan
Wah, thanks for the complements first.

    Slow down?! Definitely not!

    Cheers friend,

Bloggers have a life to live too. :D Even I went like 2 weeks without posts. I’m sure you’ve read my recent post, right? :P

Slowing down (like you) is still way better than having going AWOL for few weeks.

Perhaps a more distinct sign of a dying blog would be where the gaps between posts ever increase.

  14. On December 21st, 2007 at 8:20 pm Wayne Liew Says:

    I do read about it.

I have the fear that my blog traffic will be dropping down like a landslide. There is still a slide but not as serious as when I started this blog. Anyway, it is a bad thing to do..

  15. On December 21st, 2007 at 11:58 pm goldfries Says:

Ahh, don’t get caught up with traffic. :) just keep doing what you do best.

I am sure I will. Thanks.
