Before I start the review on Avot Media’s new video application, Avot mV, I would like to ask you a question. “Do you find your blogging inspiration from video sites like Youtube and Google video once in a while?” What if I tell you that you can somehow in some way you can make your blog a great humour blog by just posting some jokes that you can get from video sites? Check out sites like Vincent Chow Dot Net.

The site (more on the product) I am going to review today is Avot Media which had launched a mobile video application that can be used whenever you are. Any phones listed particularly phones running on Windows Mobile can use their service to access any videos on Youtube and other video sites.

Avot Video Application

You can point the browser in your phone to Avot Mobile Site for their application downloads. I guess they are targeting the youth market and the blogosphere since they started their own blog, Avot Blog but it is not updated frequently anyway so no advantage here.

They don’t charge anything but of course your service provider will. A first look at their site, I find that the service is rather attractive. Video sites can be the free tool that offers you the spark on what to blog. Avot Media is just the application for you to do this. If you have an EDGE, 3G or WIFI-enabled phone which is quite common nowadays, you can play Youtube videos right from your phone and wherever you are!

When I first look at the site of Avot mV, I thought “Wow, this is great! I want to try it out!” but it is not available to me because I am outside US and I don’t have a phone that runs on Windows Mobile. I think the big day for Avot Media will drop on November as this will be the time they offer their application to worldwide users and to make things more interesting, more phones, such as Nokia phones running on Symbian OS will be capable of running the application.

This little wonder is produced by a small company but their innovation of tapping an interesting technology for the tech-savvy bunch like bloggers sure is intelligent. One thing that made me scratch my head is that how will they going to earn anything if they don’t charge? Do they have advertisements in their application? Anyway, free = great!

If you are in the US, you are really lucky that you can try this application out. Mind to tell me about its usability? Have you heard of a phone that is capable of running Youtube videos directly without downloading it? I think this application is one of its kind right? If you are given the chance, will you use it to enjoy or to find a laugh using this application? Back to blogging, do you find videos suitable for blogs?
