I hope that by the time you are reading this, you noticed that my “Links” page is no longer in my navigation bar. Don’t be panic, I am trustworthy and I won’t remove your links just like that. I just got myself and all my partners in my former “Links” page something better. Hear me explain, a little boy who is innocent like me don’t cheat, OK?
Moreover, most of you are grown ups, how dare me? Right?

Look at the place below my “Top Commentators” section, see the 5 links there? Now, refresh the page and look again. Noticed some changes? Yes, all the links in my blogroll will get the chance to appear in my homepage! Isn’t this great? I am planning to add in an “Advertise” page and to do this, one of my pages must give way. Thus, I have decided the “Links” page will be the one.
The page has always been viewed by me only and it is absolutely blank of contents. Moreover, a page like this will be highly likely to be treated as a link farm by Google spiders. I don’t want to take the risk since my 90 days probation period is going to end and I wanted to give a clean impression to all.
It’s all for your own good, what about us?
I have taken this step and of course I have measured everything, the pros and cons before I decide to do this. I am sure most of you will not want your links to appear on my “Links” page because of the following reasons:
- Page Rank Not Available - No one will link their sites to that page! Will you? Appearing on my home page, although not permanent, can at least gain some value for your blog on the home page there will be people linking in and I can assure you of a Page Rank sooner or later.
- No contents - Your links, in a “Links” page are totally meaningless because Google changed their algorithm and the relevancy of links are really important now. Although the relevance of some blogs are not that close with mine, al least there are words on my home page which is better than all irrelevant blog links being clogged up together in one page.
- Visits - Although I am not a superstar or what but having your links appeared on someone’s home page will definitely get your links some clicks because when people are bored or they wanted to see where I got all my resources from and with your links labelled as “Blogs I Adore”, the chances to get clicked are quite high.
Do you go to the “Links” page and start clicking? - It’s bad - Please don’t argue, what I want to give you is better…
How did I managed to do this?

It’s the Random Blogroll Plugin by goldfries and I am one of the first few testers of the plugin! If you are thinking of doing the same thing, just download the plugin here and give it a try.
If you are a Malaysian, you should try this out because goldfries who created this is a Malaysian! Malaysia Boleh!
What if I just don’t like this?
To be frank and honest with you, there’s nothing can be done to relive the “Links” page. If you want to have a permanent links on my blog’s home page, start voicing out in my comments section and work yourself all the way up to challenge the person in charge of my comments section. Who are they? Sean, lukxiufung and Valen are the dominant ones in there! Sleeves up, get ready to battle with them for a place.
You can try linkbaiting by sending in your interesting posts as well and maybe I can blog about it using the permalinking method.
Any questions or comments about this decision of mine and this plugin? Tell me here. Will you give it a try? If you are eager to try it out, what are the other advantages that you think you can get compared to those “Links” pages that we used to?

October 15th, 2007 at 11:05 am
Ya, can’t you see? It sits permanently above the random links…
October 15th, 2007 at 12:59 pm
A good idea… this way each of your page has just a few outgoing links and still you can list a large multiple of sites each showing up in turns.

Yes, this is why I see this as a good plugin.
