I was once asked on how do I made so much money out of the Internet since I am not even 18 and don’t qualify for a credit card to verify my PayPal account. The world is fair, if you spend some time and effort, thinking that you will do it no matter what, no one and nothing will stop you from doing it. Even if you are below 18, you can start making money from the Internet like me (I am 17).

Why PayPal account?
If you want to make easy money just by typing or blogging, PayPal is just nice for you to accept the funds as most of the services out there like PayPerPost, Smorty and even Cost-Per-Click network, Bidvertiser can pay you via PayPal. This shows that how important it is a PayPal account for you if you want to make money off the Internet. They are still dominating although many other new services are trying to compete with them.

For teenagers or kids below 18, I would like to share four ways with you to get a verified PayPal account. For those experienced guys, I know you must be saying “Who don’t know this?” but please bear with me for a while, I must teach my teenage blogger gang to earn money the happy way first!

Daddy, I want your credit card number!
Tell your daddy or mommy or whoever that loves you that you want to make money from the Internet and you will need their credit card number. There might be two outcome, “I am proud of you, son!” and “Are you crazy?” Start studying or else stop surfing the Internet!”

I don’t like this even if my dad is more than willing to give me his credit card number (because he knew I am a real money maker! :-P ). Why? The PayPal account that I registered must be under his name and “legally”, you are earning for your dad! This sounds evil but you will get more excitement if the money is yours! Want alternatives? Read on.

Ambank NexG Prepaid Credit Card
This is a credit card which can be applied by any Malaysian citizens easily. All you need to do is to buy the application kit from any Ambank outlets or any 7 Eleven in Klang Valley with RM25 (if I am not wrong). Fill in the form, get your Identity Card photocopied, send it to them and they will call you sooner or later to tell you that your card has been activated and you can start depositing or reload your card at any Ambank or ePay.

They charge a monthly fee of RM3 but this figure is just kacang putih (very small) if you compared with the big money you will earn later. I like their 24 hours of customer service and their sweet voices. They are really helpful as well.

EON Bank MOL Freedom Credit Card
You can get it at any 7 Eleven outlets as well as EON bank branches. This card works almost the same as the Ambank NexG card. It don’t charges MYR3 monthly fees but instead, it charges MYR2 every time you reload, I wrote about it before at “MOL Freedom - Alternative to Ambank NexG”.

Wait till you are 18
If you are not that desperate for money to show off to my friends like me, you can wait till you are 18 or smarter kids will say, “Why work so hard to blog, money can let daddy earn!” Fine, but you should try to make it yourself, it’s really enjoyable!

I am using Ambank NexG Prepaid Credit Card now although the new MOL Freedon Card from EON Bank seems to be more tempting but after the comment made by coder, I don’t feel like giving my money to them because I love banks that will give me my PayPal code to verify my PayPal account at 2am in the morning to help verifying my PayPal account!

If you are a Malaysian or countries that are not in PayPal’s authorized countries list, don’t start blogging for PayPal funds unless your PayPal account is verified. This is because PayPal no longer allows you to accept funds without verifying your account and you will see your cash flows back to PayPerPost or the services that you wrote for!

I am 17 now and when I am 18, I can have my Public Bank Electron Debit Card! I don’t like credit cards because I don’t like having debts. With this debit card, I guess it will be easier and cheaper than what I am using now. I will blog about it next year but I am enjoying blogging with AmBank NexG now!

Any extra advice from adults? Face verification problems with PayPal? Still unsure about something? Just leave a comment or contact me. I will be always willing to help!

anyway, I am old enough and own a credit card. recently i register a paypal acc and it requires verification which cost me $1.95 in my next bill. However, I still don’t know how to cash out my paypal money since I also in Malaysia.

How the AMBank NexG work? You can cash out with that card from your paypal account?

It’s indeed cool for a 17 year old to achieve something like you did, Wayne. Very cool. Unfortunately when i was 17 years old, which was 3 years back i did not have broadband to explore enough of the Internet to learn about all these things. Only had a dial-up which is pretty costly. Haha.

Anyway nice post there. However i have few questions though.
    1) Does Mol Freedom provides the code to verify paypal? What exactly is this “code”? Is it a pin number?

    2) Why would you say the two credit cards bring you into debts? How would that happen as they are prepaid cards? What are the differences between them and Public Bank’s debit card?

    3) Lastly how do you convert the paypal funds you received to cash? :p Maybe you can write another article on how to do this. Hehe :D

That’s all. Thanks for the nice post!

Impressing! Now I only have one problem, I normally cash out through other people’s paypal, which charges me lower exchange rate. How can I withdraw on my own, or at a higher exchange rate?

    @ Emily Lin
Don’t be ashamed and just ask. I will try my best to answer but please forgive me if there is any late replies because I don’t get to online every hour. :-)

    @ lukxiufung
AmBank NexG don’t allow you to cash out, to cash out, you will need a card called the VMI card. It’s quite pricey and I am waiting for more money in my PayPal account before I register for the card.

    @ qing87
I indeed considered myself as lucky because of what you said and this is why I must hold on to this wonderful opportunity!

    Your questions answered:
    1. When you submit your credit card number to PayPal and PayPal will charge USD1.95 from your card and inside the transaction details of the payment to PayPal, there will be a 4 digit code which must be entered into PayPal verification section to get your PayPal account verified.

    2. I am saying that by using those normal (not prepaid ones), I will get myself into debts. Both of them are Mastercards where as Public Bank Electron is Visa. Also, I will not need to top up my card as the Public Bank card allows me to link my Public Bank account to it.

Public Bank Debit Card are for those 18 and above as well! In usual daily card swiping transactions, AmBank NexG might fail!

    3. I will write about it soon as I am waiting the funds in my PayPal account to rise. :-P

    @ yung .
Using VMI card which its charges are quite high. Maybe you can try selling your PayPal funds to locals but it is not allowed but PayPal but they won’t know unless someone reports your act.

    @ cbenc12 and keeyit
    Thanks!

So, do you mean that you can transfer the money into your public bank account from ur public bank debit card?

  • Comment by Wayne Liew MyAvatars 0.2

There will be no transferring fuss, the amount that is available in your card will be the amount left in your bank account. This will means that you will get interest as well which AmBank NexG and MOL Freedom does not offer.

So, after that you can take out the money from bank directly like what we did via the ATM machine everyday?

so this is even better than the credit credit card method :o

You can shop on eBay, you can buy genuine software online and many more!

    @ lukxiufung
Yes and you won’t worry of overspending because you can’t spend if you don’t have money in your card.

    @ satkuru
I am not even 18 yet and this is why I have to settle for a AmBank NexG.

Hello. I am 15 years old, and my parents will not give me their credit card number. How can I legally get a paypal without a credit card?

You can buy any of the prepaid credit cards listed above and top it up with cash, your parents will not know about it.

    This is very interesting.
I have to say , Good job on clearly explaining everything out.
I’m 17 and I’m doing exactly what you are doing(Earning money without parent’s knowing bout it  )
But sadly..I’m just way to lazy to go through all the hassle of getting that MOL card  and i do most of my dealings in person if the people are near me and also by bank deposits if they are really far away..

But i i guess for all which would like to explore into the money making business when your under aged , Its hard and you gotta work hard for it
O well..if your already getting along with all that Wayne has written..Great job

I’ve gotta go..Good Job once again Wayne and..Don’t stop earning MONEY

The Internet won’t give special treatment for underaged. We got to work as hard, sometimes twice as hard with the ability with have compared to the adults.

Anyway, those who are hardworking and with persistence will eventually thrive.

Thanks for visiting and leaving me a comment. ;-)

hi. I’m 12 and from the UK, I’ve set up my website, started making products, and have got stuck. I’ve made a paypal account, it uses my halifax ’save4it’ account, but I was wondering if I could actually recieve money from people that have bought things from my website, and I’d get the address to send the product to them? You know what I mean I just want to know how everything will run. :)

Yes, you should be able to set things up with PayPal if you have a site in place. Also, your customers will be able to submit their address prior to their payment.

Alternatively, you can consider about listing your products on eBay.

It’s only for Malaysia. However, you could apply for such a card even though you are in the US. Just call up a few banks and inquire about it. ;-)

If my son/daughter wanted to open a PayPal account I would use a separate credit card (meaning I never use it for anything) and bank account (only $100). That way it cannot be abused by either my child or a spammer/hacker.

Hi im 14, and i do special offer sites that give me points (money), all works out because parent dont know. And i found out they give paypal. I thought i was set. Now I need to get verified, last thing i need to do….. Prerferably, how can i get verified without a bank account, or my parents credit card. Mainly asking can I use any prepaid credit card from stores to get a verifiied account, didnt really understand. (Kind of refers to your comment on November 6th). Can I just get any card (Visa Gift Card), or have to be ones listed above. And what do u mean by top it with cash? Do you mean get money on it so it can be approved for Paypal?? I live in the U.S. THis is confusing im sry for very wordy speech, but Main Question: What cards in U,S, work, and when prepaid, can they verify a paypal account?
