That is indeed very true. I started out blogging by only admiring those who had found their success in blogging and have looked down on peer and new bloggers.

This is what I regret now because I do see some of them whom I missed out in interaction last time that are really successful in blogging now.

I think it is well worth networking with a new blogger because you never know who is going to be the next big thing. And they will most likely remember you.

@ Nivaz
Changing a perspective is always better than follow what others our doing blindly which might not give you any advantage.

@ Gab
Networking with new bloggers don't mean networking with incompetents and I am totally on this side.

I always try to network with everyone as I believe everyone has their own expertise which can help ourselves in some way if their skills are combined with ours in a synergy attempt.

I sphunn this and am subscribing, which is extraordinary as it usually takes me several posts before I'm sold on a feed. But this is something that needed saying so badly that I had to pay attention.

Networking with new bloggers doesn't mean you're networking with incompetents. I've made awesome contacts on SEOmoz who I encouraged to blog there and then started blogging on their own (I don't take credit for that, I'm just saying that you don't know where it might lead). Ann of http://www.seosmarty.com is an excellent connection, as are Vinny Goldsmith (http://www.vinnygoldsmith.com) and Sean "http://www.searchmatters.com" Maguire. On a related note, I think the competition thing is meh - it's more like a rising tide lifts all boats, you know?

@ Jason Falls
You just read Maki's post or what? Sounds so alike...

Good point made. Many bloggers tried so hard and go all out to pitch a big blogger and yet they fail. They look down on new bloggers which is a stage that all bloggers have to go through.

@ Jason
You'll have to bare with them. If you give them a good answer, they might be your loyal readers. This also shows them that you are passionate about the topic you are writing and you have sufficient knowledge to write about the topic.
