Fooling Around The Blogosphere Starts Here

I Miss Old Home

August26

It’s been one week and I am going through a hard time, I am all stressed up doing all the stuffs over again, just because to get more respect from advertisers and a more professional look. I am paying USD6.95 per month to do all the hard work again! For an instance, I thought of moving my blog back to the old Blogger-hosted Simple Life of YP but it will sound stupid, really stupid…

My old blog have an astounding PR5 (which is the same as Kennysia.com), which gains me a lot of opportunities to write ads which many bloggers don’t. I’ve made this my benchmark, WayneLiew.com must reach PR5 in the next Google PR update and the best is to become better! This is my objective but this is what that made me have the pressure and this pressure if combined with the pressure of studies, it will be immense enough to crush me into mashed meat.

It’s hard to forget the times that I blog on Blogger. It is at there I get the most precious blogging friends, gained the most knowledge on blogging and internet. After I left there, I think there are some friends of mine out there that still doesn’t know that Simple Life of YP will not be updated any more. I have gone back to Simple Life of YP a few times and there’s still people leaving comments for me there. I have no way of contacting them about the link change and thus, I left them unattended.

Now, I am starting to realise the importance of what most of the blogging gurus (one of them will be John Chow) says:

It’s better to get the domain name at the start than down the road. The last thing yo want to do is build up a blog with blogspot, get a tonnes of backlinks, Page Rank, Alexa and Technorati rankings, and then have to move on to its own domain and start all over.

Although I am sweating because of this now, I do learn a lot from my previous blogspot experience and because I started blogging young and with no capital ($), this is just the right path for me I guess.

Why my visitors mean so much to me? Well, if not because of them, I will not be able to host my blog using a paid host service and have my own domain name! It’s hard to be my visitors as I am not in the stream of popular blogs. If you mention Wayne Liew Dot Com to your friends, they’ll probably ask you:”What is that?”. From now on, if someone says that, just ask them to pay me a visit to check Wayne Liew Dot Com out.

After a rant like this, I think I am having back the motivation to continue to blog here and push against the pressure! This blog, Wayne Liew Dot Com is here to stay!

    Wayne,

Why don’t you continue posting on your Simple Life? And what do you mean that your readers don’t know that you are not going to update it? Aren’t you leaving a post and your new URL there? Or comment?

Your Simple Life Of YP can make it to Page Rank of 5 in just half year…
I’m sure that you can make it this time before the next PR update…
You already got the touch of blogging already…

The gap between PR5 and PR6 is huge…
Page Rank 5 is quite common actually…
I’m a small time blogger which only have visitors from my friends and so on…Not in the pagerank rush…

    Edited: Spelling error

Bidvertiser is the second worse earner for me, the worst will be AdBrite. I think the demographic thing is causing you that no ads is appearing, I didn’t approve US and UK ads but I am not sure about India. I’ll check on that as soon as possible.

    @ Sze Ping
Surprise!! I am a little surprise last time during the Google update, I had a big leap to PR3 on the first time, the second time, it was PR5, I’m stunned to be frank, maybe Google just loves me. :-P

    @ Anonymous Journalist
I already leave a post there but I am not sure why there are still comments emerging from there. The reason I don’t want to continue to post stuffs there is that I am not that resourceful to post that much stuffs.

    @ Dani
Thanks for it but I’ve edited your comment, have a look at it.

    @ cbenc12
    Thanks and I sure will!

    @ Sean
    The law of attraction! :-)

    @ Broken
Thanks. I think it will be OK for me to get to that PR5 again but many good and interesting blogs out there is facing “Page Rank Confiscation” problem, getting robbed by Google in this latest PR update and I don’t know why…

If I am lucky along the way, I think I will make it!
