Google PageRank Dangles Money at Me

Google Page Rank

Sean from Life Long Sharing tipped me two days back that Google Page Rank for sites has been on a free fall and Andrew Ooi with his post, Zerofied Google PR sent waves of disappointment towards Google.

I always say that I don’t care about Google Page Rank and I don’t write paid posts frequently on Wayne Liew Dot Com but after reading and getting these news, I began to wonder what will be the results if I check my Page Rank with some of the tools out there to see what my real rank is.

I will be testing with two sites which is mine and Problogger.net since Darren didn’t write paid posts in his blog as well. I will be using some of the most used tools available on the Internet to show the validity of my Google Page Rank.

Claimed by blogger:
Problogger: PR6
Wayne Liew: PR4

Live PR:
Problogger: PR6
Wayne Liew: PR4

iWebTools
Problogger: PR6
Wayne Liew: PR4

Smart PageRank
Problogger: PR0
Wayne Liew: PR0

Dig PageRank:
Problogger: PR6
Wayne Liew: PR4

I guess the number of tests is enough. I don’t think I am penalized for anything and sometimes it is just the tools that we use to test our PageRank fails. Test it out on the sites which I have got my PR4 shown. They might be accurate but the glitch that happens sometimes will make you pull your hair because of the PR N/A shown.

I have to conclude that it is the paid posts issue that Google is targeting now. My old blogspot blog which is a den for paid posts is now at PR EGG. No paid posts for me to train my writing style and typing speed any more! Paid posts will no longer be my main online income source and I will start another venture on my money making journey.

For those who are demoted, don’t feel down about it. It is just a rating. Do you feel down when your Alexa ranking is more than 100,000? Do you feel down when your Technorati rankings is not in the Top 100? Come on, traffic matters most and with SocialSpark on the way, I am sure you will want to get more traffic by January next year so that you can start writing paid posts freely again!

P/S: I don’t write paid posts here on Wayne Liew Dot Com but I do include it in all the paid posts platforms that I used for my blogspot blog. Guess what I’ve found out in my “Task Management” section of Blogsvertise yesterday?

Blogsvertise Task Management

I have declined some of it and I didn’t know that Blogsvertise will have that much tasks for me before. The money is there for me to grab. Do you think I should take and munch it?

We get promoted to PR4 at the same time, but now I got demoted to PR0. Glad to see you still maintain the PR.
Btw, I have some friends who didn’t put any ads in blog, no paid post, but also demoted from PR 3/4 to PR0.

    @ clement
They care because the earnings that some bloggers depend on it and this happens because all the paid posts platforms are using Google PR as a measurement for blogs.

This is why I suddenly get so much tasks from Blogsvertise because everybody get a 0 but I haven’t.

    @ dott-com
Yes, this is indeed saddening but we can’t go against Google. The reason for the rise, I suspect the reason to be not having paid links, the reason for the demotion now is because of paid posts.

    @ Sean
If they didn’t even touch any of the ads or paid posts before, they can request for reconsideration through the Google Webmaster Tools.

    @ MonkeyWong
The standard they use? “I WANT TO BE THE KING OF THE INTERNET”

    @ Fahmishah
Yes, do what you want. Paid posts won’t let their business go just like that by continue to measure blogs with Google PR, something will happen. Trust me!

    @ Kitkat
Don’t be down dude. Cheer up!

Losing PR is like losing some revenue to some people….. However, probably after this whole PR thingy, people must learn not to rely too much on PR, but do quality stuff on their blog to attract visitors……Just treat PR as a bonus…… and you probably won’t be hurt too much by a drop in PR…

You are right. On my blogvertise admin panel, I see that many for my PR3/4 blogs but I never touch them. I only take some for my PR1 blogspot account like you do :D

PR are important if you want to earn a lot, but still PR is not everything, you can still have all the ways to earn.

Anyway I think you should write those posts, it’s easily worth RM300. But if you still wanna make your site free of paid post, then just close your eyes on the RM300. Lolz

  11. On November 17th, 2007 at 4:34 pm Andrew Ooi Says:

That is why many have taken the path to separate their blogs into 2 types.
    - Those that are pure and clean to gain organic traffic.
    - ‘Tong Sampah’ blogs to go for paid posts

And of course to really keep them completely separate, with no linking and making reference to each other, with obvious reasons for that precaution.

RM 300 for loss of PR3 or PR4 rankings is not worth it.

  12. On November 17th, 2007 at 8:34 pm Wayne Liew Says:

    @ kljs
Having a drop in PR doesn’t mean that you are banned by Google so there will be no need for fear.

For all the posties, the platform will start using other rating as measurement so please calm down.

    @ Andrew
I was in for a paid post notification spree these few days. PR4 are like rare items.

    @ yung .
I am closing my eyes on it. It depends really, if you want me to write a review (with positives and negatives) for you at the price of $40 a post, I will certainly write for you, on Wayne Liew Dot Com.

    @ Andrew
You are same as me, my PR0 blogspot is still having paid osts on it even though it has been penalised (who cares? )

  13. On November 17th, 2007 at 10:23 pm Andrew Ooi Says:

Me too, I’m still taking paid post on my PR0 sites. Those opps that they dangle right in front of you look so mouth watering doesn’t it

  14. On November 18th, 2007 at 12:24 am Wayne Liew Says:

    Yes!
