After some grunts and whines, Google at last pass by Wayne Liew Dot Com and awarded me with a Page Rank. Wayne Liew Dot Com directly shot up to PR4, which I am glad of. This is not the predicted which I did last time. This is true and this is a fact, if you don’t trust me, check it out yourself at Page Rank Checker.

This post is not to show how happy I am, this post is just to show that who previously claimed that Page Rank is going to be abolished, Page Rank will be harder to get, there will be a new system of Page Rank is jumping into conclusion too early.
Google is replacing back the mighty PR6 to Problogger.net but still John Chow Dot Com’s PR remained the same as mine. My old blogspot domain has now dropped to PR2 from the old PR5.
As I said earlier, Page Rank don’t really matter to me as I don’t sell links on my homepage and you frequently see paid posts around here. All I want are loyal readers like you who are reading this. Even though I finally got an PR4, I hope everything will stop until the next round of PR update, there’s too much buzz on it and me myself is tired about it.
This will be a short posts regarding the page rank update. Check your site and tell me about your ranks. Are you happy or down about it?

Ha, I was sooooo hoping that they would do away with public PR. But after reading your post I checked the PR for my blog, and I took a hit. Went from a 4 to a 2. Not real sure why, but oh well. Page Rank really doesnt matter to me.
October 27th, 2007 at 4:07 pm
I have PR3 on my main page and PR4 on some inner ones, which is a little bit strange, but I’ll take it none the less !
October 27th, 2007 at 4:34 pm
I got a PR3. Not bad since I only blog for a month plus..
October 27th, 2007 at 4:38 pm
Hi Wayne,
I am a PR2; although I don’t really understand what that means. Anyway, I am not targeting PR ranking, but targeting subscribers as you can see at my About page.
My hope is for people to be more aware and grow by reading my articles, so I believe the more subscribers I have, the better I achieve this goal.
October 27th, 2007 at 5:19 pm

October 27th, 2007 at 6:06 pm
@ Edward Khoo
Keep on blogging and the Page Rank will come to you soon.
@ Kitkat
Anyway, don’t take Page Rank so seriously, it is nothing compared to actually traffic.
Keep on blogging is all I can say. If you mind this, you can always complain to Google.
@ kucau
Cool. Should I congratulate you? Anyway, we are on the same rank with John Chow now.
@ VR6Tech
Maybe you have lost some links or maybe some blogs that are linking to you have their PR cut down as well. I don’t see PR seriously, as long as I am not banned by Google.
@ Preblogging
This is normal. Actually, as a content writer, you would want that to happen. That is not bad since that PR4 page will be linking to your home page as well.
@ thoughtworks
Maybe your link building skills worked out. Congratulations.
@ Lawrence Cheok
The real measurement is what you have set for yourself. There is no absolute way of measuring a blog other than you yourself knowing how good it is since many measure their blogs in many ways.
Your blog offer good contents and it is marketable. So go out, dig out some self-improvement blogs and do some networking with them.
@ Mercury
Ya, start it the sooner the better. I don’t recommend people to sit on a generic domain. I guess if you get PR3 or 4, you won’t leave already right?
@ iCalvyn
).
I hope to abide by Google guidelines and hopefully, I will get more, not just Page Rank but other aspects as well (I am greedy
@ Nicholas
Thank you. Do you use Google Webmaster Tools?
October 27th, 2007 at 6:53 pm
Mines from PR0 to PR3. Wow, the fact that my blog just started last August 2007. Thanks Big G.

October 27th, 2007 at 8:49 pm
Good for you to get that PR4. Noticed you have been very prolific with your blogging and travelling widely across the blogosphere. Young chaps usually have a lot of energy.
October 27th, 2007 at 9:56 pm
Grats. Nice jump too
Good to see people moving up instead of down.
October 27th, 2007 at 11:29 pm
I’m still trapped in the PR0 ‘poverty’.. Lol..
October 28th, 2007 at 2:37 am
i got a PR 2 for my homepage, and I realised all my internal links are not ranked.. why is that so?
October 28th, 2007 at 3:10 am
Cannot, I want to complain!
October 28th, 2007 at 3:15 am
Wayne, write paid post mean sell text-link? My blog’s PR dropped.. too bad!
October 28th, 2007 at 8:39 am
Haha, congrats dude! I got PR 3 (from 4) but like what you said, it’s not important. Let’s forget about it and build a better blog
October 28th, 2007 at 2:07 pm
@ charles
Congrats for getting a rise.
@ Marko Novac
Congrats!
@ phyzhoe
Anyway, congratulations to you!
Tough name.
@ Markk
I always have the belief that hard work will pays off. Blogging is my active hobby and it is earning active income for me. I love bloghopping and commenting as well. This might be the reason you have seen me all over the blogosphere.
@ Cameron Low
Thanks for visiting my blog. Anyway, I guess I will be getting a leap whichever way the Google algorithm goes because previously, I am at PR N/A.
@ Steven
Continue to blog harder. Gambateh!
@ cozuni
Not everything will be ranked. Getting indexed by Google is enough for those pages. You can’t ask for too much right?
Also, people mainly links to your homepage, not your articles. One of my articles which have over 40 backlinks gets a PR3.
@ Kitkat
You can but I am not selling any text links, Google have no reasons to penalise me.
@ Eric
It depends on the frequency. If you write at a frequency of 1:1 between paid and non-paid, the risk is high. I doubt this will be taken into account.
Page Rank drop can be due to several reasons. Some sites no longer pointing to you, sites that have been pointing to you have their Page Rank demoted as well are some of the reasons.
@ Carl
Thanks, mate. Ya, content matters most. Keep up your good blog!
October 29th, 2007 at 5:57 am
Strangely, I was PR0 earlier and suddenly I saw I’m at PR3!
Damn, now that’s cool!
October 29th, 2007 at 8:18 am
That is not strange… You deserved that.
October 29th, 2007 at 10:34 am
I got a pr3 as well..woohoo…congrats on your PR
October 29th, 2007 at 1:59 pm
Congratulation for the PR4… Seems like you have a new tag line “Fooling Around The Internet Starts Here”… I don’t remember seeing it earlier..
October 29th, 2007 at 5:04 pm
@ Rice Blogger
Congratulations to you as well.
@ Jalaj
Thanks. How was your PR? It has been like this since last week because I think that this blog is no longer a personal blog so there will no whines and rants.
October 29th, 2007 at 7:19 pm
I only realized that there’s an PR upgrade today.

I got a skinny 1 for my valenathome, and a 3 for my mw101, which I am not going to use to write paid posts (why like that leh???) My oldest blog is still eating egg….
October 29th, 2007 at 7:24 pm
Well mine was a PR4 as a subdomain on wordpress.com… and I just managed to retain it… Still I think it’s a matter of joy as update happened at last! as I was feeling unsecured with new domain holding PR0 for long 5 months.
October 29th, 2007 at 8:12 pm
@ Valen
Paid posts sometimes made Google angry but I am not sure. Maybe because your non-paid posts blog is getting more links.
@ Jalaj
Why not try hosting your own blog. You can monetise it and have much more freedom.
October 30th, 2007 at 7:34 am
Congrats for the PR4. Mine dropped from PR 2 to PR 1 and thean back to PR2.
October 30th, 2007 at 1:56 pm

October 30th, 2007 at 5:56 pm
@ flsam
We call that a Google jump. Luckily it didn’t fall. Congrats!
@ jayhan
Great! Now, I will not have the chance to hear you whine on always being at PR2.
@ Jayce
Welcome to join the PR4 team.

Hi, thanks for posting your first comment.
Maybe the links to your posts are more. Congratulations on the Page Rank and thanks for being supportive!
October 31st, 2007 at 3:08 am
Mine still remains at PR0. I thought there would be an increase to at least PR1. Looks like I won’t be able to start writing paid posts anytime soon until the next PR update… Anyway, congrats to you!
October 31st, 2007 at 5:21 pm
You can write even with no PR. It is just that you will be paid at a lower rate. I don’t recommend you to write though.
October 31st, 2007 at 8:40 pm
I got a PR3! Wohoo!!
No increase in traffic and earnings yet…so i guess it’s all for the ego now…LOL
congrats to u for ur pr 4

I am not sure of what would be the bandwidth requirement… By hosting at Wordpress.com at least I am prevented from Bandwidth hassles… My previous host (in fact a reseller) used to delete complete account on one pretext or the other as soon as my bandwidth consumption increased compared to his expectations.
November 1st, 2007 at 5:34 pm
@ Wayne Liew
I know that paid posts aren’t good for a blog because it may drive visitors away. That’s why I’m interested in ReviewMe which doesn’t require writers to write positive reviews but they do have higher requirements for approval of websites.
@ Jalaj
I’ve visited Jalaj.net and in my opinion, 20GB of bandwidth a month should be more than sufficient. In fact, 10GB should be enough. Let’s hear other opinions.
November 1st, 2007 at 8:23 pm
@ Horbart
Congratulations on your PR3.
@ Jalaj
As Ginn Wei puts it, I think it is pretty reasonable. You can always contact your host when it is reaching the max.
@ Ginn Wei
ReviewMe just approved me.
