The production of a quality blog post requires you to outline your blog post in points which will then be further elaborated into a full blog post. Some bloggers have problems with blog content elaboration. In the end, all the points seem to be incidental and due to the inability to elaborate from different aspects, the blog post needs to be scrapped.
Elaboration is an important part of writing and of course, blogging. Some bloggers have a unique way of elaboration which had became part of their blogging style. However, it is the different elaboration aspects used within a blog post that pushes the reader to continue reading your article rather than being bored away.
5 Blog Contents Elaboration Styles Listed
I will be sharing with you 10 blog contents elaboration styles that I frequently see their usage on the blogosphere. You can try fitting these methods into your next blog post to freshen up the perception of your blog readers towards your contents.
Examples
Examples and case studies provide a better view for readers, especially if a well-known example is being used. Using well-known case studies does not only promote better understanding, it also triggers the interest of your readers.
Finding such examples to be used in your blog post can be very easy if you are subscribed to some buzz breaking blogs that act as a news syndicator for your niche. For the the blogging tutorials niche, it will be The Blog Herald and for niches like local politics, it may be the mainstreams media.
Self-Repeating
This might make up a crappy blog post. However, if you really don’t have much resources to fill up your blog post, this will be the only solution. I don’t recommend such writing style as readers nowadays are smart and choosy. Such elaboration style will be easily recognized in the highly competitive blogosphere.
Self-repeating is easy and in fact, most bloggers are doing it subconsciously. Try to rewrite the same points which you have stated earlier in other forms of words or from another point of view. Also, to make self-repeating hard to be spotted, you can separate the repeating elaboration with some unique points. With this, the chances of readers realizing that you are self-repeating can be lowered.
Facts
Facts are the most solid form of point elaboration. They help to back your points up if they are accurate and are being leeched from reliable sources. Facts can be in the form of definitions, detailed explanations, statistics an stats.
Facts of a niche can be found at various encyclopedias and Wikipedia is undoubtedly the largest source for your need of facts. Some authority niche blogs will have a high enough influence to make their research and studies a fact.
Explanation
Explanation can be said as making a point in your blog post simpler. This will result in a longer sentence or usage of shallow but understandable phrases. Sentences should be straightforward and easy to understand if you are trying to explain your points.
Sinkholes that bloggers should avoid when explaining their points will be self-repeating and confusing the readers without realizing it. This normally happen due to the limitations of language power that might cripple when facing the need to create a blog post that is simple but not bored with the same old elaboration style.
Definitions
If you don’t know how to give your points a kick-start, defining the keywords within your points could get your idea juices flowing as definitions often contain a lot of trigger words that are capable of pushing your elaborations deeper.
Definitions can be easily found on the Internet and one of them will be by typing define:{enter word here} in to Google search bar. However, definitions might differ in various niches. Also, a blogger should note that frequent use of definitions as an elaboration method is boring. Just imagine yourself reading the dictionary.

I haven’t started recognizing my blogging style. I usually blog about new things I found and how they can be useful to help me and my readers make money online. These types of post usually some in not-so-long tutorials and screenshots
Second is my counter post to another bloggers’ post. If I feel it’s not enough just leaving a comment on their post, I’ll write my opinion on my blog.
There’s also sometimes I post my own ideas and tell my readers to try it if they like it.
When it comes to hard times finding out ideas, I go to SU or looking in my bookmarks. I try to avoid repeating topics unless I have something really new that can refresh the topic.

Sometimes coming up with topics is difficult. And then sometimes the topic falls out of the sky and hits me on the head and knocks me down on the ground. Never can tell how or when I will get inspiration. By the way when you just can’t come up with a good topic…do a self interview…

It’s funny how you talk about self-repeating. I have seen some successful blogs re-post certain ideas in different forms or from different perspectives. It works.

My biggest pet peeve so far with bloggers with reading them where there’s no complete though, just a bunch of random ideas all typed onto one page. it makes no sense, and I have to piece together what they’re talking about. It’s crazy!

Social media sites like SU and those related to your niche, which is the webmaster niche can provide you with a lot of ideas of what you can blog about (of course with your own elaboration) and provide you with the latest update regarding the niche.
Your elaboration style might be using your own experience if you walk through your readers in some kind of tutorials. This will be covered in the next part of this article.

I guess the inspiration sourcing part is like trying to figure out what should be your main points and what to blog about. Elaboration can be made easier if you already have a set of points.
Anyway, doing self interviews is definitely a great way to come up with post ideas. The best part is that if the interview goes on and on, some other ideas will drop by.

Well, if I am not mistaken, this kind of method is called “blast from the past”. This can be useful to face a blogger’s block or representing some great post to your new readers.
Self repeating within a post compared to within a blog like what “blast from the past” does is certainly more difficult as intelligent readers can point them out easily. Also, the consequences can be worse.
@ becky
Well, sometimes the post are in series, maybe you can try giving them a chance by subscribing to see what they have to offer for the coming days or weeks. If it continues to disappoint you, you, as a reader, always have the rights to unsubscribe and stop reading their blog.
