Advert Revenue - New Money Maker Review

October31

Today, I would like to introduce you a new money maker for your blog, Advert Revenue. I registered with them because I am facing a major problem with my Adbrite ads, which is similar to this, but this time, it is the spam bot’s fault! :-(

Advert Revenue

Advert Revenue is a new player in the market, which will be competing with the great Google Adsense, Bidvertiser and Adbrite. One new thing about Advert Revenue is that the ads offered on your sites will depend on which channel that your site belongs in rather than being using the contextual ad technology like Google Adsense.

My first impression of the site is that the design the design is a bit disorganized. After a few minutes spent on exploring the site, I roughly get the idea of how the site works. Your earnings will most probably be CPM-based ($1 fixed CPM rate) which I see is quite good for a site a high traffic but low click through rate on ads.

Updated: Ginn Wei provided me with the heads up that Advert Revenue is no longer paying on a CPM basis. However, they are paying based on the quality of your traffic.

Upon being approved by Advert Revenue, you will be given three choices of ads, it will be the banner ads, paid to promote links and a pop under code. I noticed that their banner ad code only offers horizontal ones which had stopped me from placing it on Wayne Liew Dot Com but rest assured, I have raised a ticket asking them to provide a vertical banner ad code as soon as possible. Also, they required that their ad codes must be placed on the top half of a site.

Advert Revenue Channel

I am not earning anything with them yet but they do offer your earnings to be paid through PayPal or E-Gold, which will be up to you again on choosing the ideal payment method. Although I haven’t test it on Wayne Liew Dot Com, I am sure that the click through and ads displayed will be very relevant to a site because of the categorization of ads according to the category your site belongs in.

Upon signing up, they will have an invitation for you to join their forum to give them feedback and for you to seek any assistance if you face any problems. Also, they offer live support but as always, due to the time difference, I haven’t seen their support in an online status.

Will you sign up for this one? If you have no other choices like me or your other ad platforms are not performing well, you may just sign up to Advert Revenue. I forgot to tell you that you will make $5 for every active referrals. Try it out now and tell me what you think of it.

Thanks for the intro on a new ad network. A fixed $1 CPM is reasonable if (not in order):

    1. There are enough ads that will be displayed to international visitors instead of majority being geo-targeted to only few countries such as US and Canada.
    2. The filling rate is high i.e. >90%
    3. A page can display up to 3 or 4 ads with various sizes available.
    4. A large pool of advertiser.
    5. A good real-time user interface.

If Advert Revenue can fulfill the above criteria, it will certainly be a serious competitor to other large established networks.

I’ve removed my Adbrite since their pay are really saddening.

Haven’t sign up with this Advert Revenue yet, wanna read more about them first. If I were to sign up, I’ll make you as my referrer :)

To answer to each of your features,

    1. There are no geotargeting enabled in Advert Revenue.
    2. The filling rate depends on what channel are you in. If you choose a channel like Internet or Money, the filling rate is 100%. Also, Advert Revenue promises that the filling rate will be kept above 80%.
    3. There’s no limit on number of ads.
    4. I am not sure about this but when I test the code on my site with two impression loads, I got 4 totally different ads.
    5. It is bad, really bad.

I hope you get to know more about it now.

    @ yung .
They limited my account because of invalid clicks but I am sure it was done by spam bots. Sent an appeal to them and waiting for reply.

Thanks for having the thought to sign up under me.

Is it normal for to require that the ads be placed on the top half of the page? I understand the reasoning, but I’m wondering if their competitors also require this.

    Hi Wayne,

Thanks for pointing out a new Money Making Opportunity :) I always welcome them.

By the way, you may want to try out Widgetbucks. It seems to be a good program.

    @ yung .
What do you mean by “their pay are really saddening”? Is the CPM and CPC much lower than the others or the filling rate is low? Other reasons?

    @ Wayne Liew
    1. You mean the ads will be displayed to all visitors regardless of the country of origin?
    5. I don’t mind it being bad for the time being since it’s still in early stage but the payment must be on time.

You mentioned that only horizontal ads are available. What sizes are available?

    @ Steven Snell
It’s perfectly normal. In fact, some require their banners to be on top of other banners.

Fun and decorative? New design idea…

    @ Kitkat
As I said in my post, I am waiting for them to roll out their vertical ads before I will add them into my inventory.

    @ Steven
I guess major ad platforms does not require this to be done and this surely is a negative for Advert-Revenue.

    @ Kss
Hi, thanks for making your first comment.

I am using Widget Bucks on another blog which is related to the ads. I don’t think it is relevant here though. Don’t you think so?

    @ Ginn Wei
Yes, and a good news to you is that they added a horizontal ad panel.

Congrats on techleech.com. Maybe its time you wrote something about the New Mac OS X Leopard(And probably how to install it on a PC)

  11. On November 1st, 2007 at 10:27 pm Wayne Liew Says:

That site is still a tester. I have reviewed Mac OS X but still I am not sure about it because I don’t really get my hands on it.

  12. On November 2nd, 2007 at 12:15 am Kss Says:

    wayne,

it does not matter if it is relevant because some visitors just like to click on ads :P .. out of curiosity i think. i am getting a good CPC rate from WB.. i guess it is worth trying it out .. for a few weeks to find out.

Hm, I guess I could give it a try. But honestly I don’t really know where to put it. I guess I’ll have to swap it with my other ads so I can test it.

    @ Kss
It depends where most of your traffic are from. If you are targeting search engine or niche traffic, it is really important that your ads are relevant and this will give you a much higher CTR.

You moved my heart a little. You may be seeing WB ads here soon but I am hoping to have more contents efficient stuffs for my readers. Anyway, you will always see improvements here.

    @ Marko Novak
Maybe under your WidgetBuck ads. The ads are really relevant for you if you place you blog under the Computers & Internet channel because the ads are on money making and sometimes blogging tips products.

First day running the ads, I had made USD2 from it. Not high because I still can’t find a way to customise the ads to make the title of ads being highlighted but it is just nice for a new service.

They are really good and paying very well

  16. On November 6th, 2007 at 7:57 pm Wayne Liew Says:

Did you get paid by them?

  17. On November 7th, 2007 at 7:18 pm Ginn Wei Says:

Just to let everyone knows that Advert Revenue has changed its pricing structure. It’s NO longer a cpm-based network because it’s currently using ’smart pricing’ feature where you’ll only be paid based on the quality of your traffic. It can go higher than $1 but it can also go as low as $0.1 per 1000 impressions. In other words, it’s no longer as attractive as it used to be.

No wonder my earnings are slowing down. Thanks for the update.
