6 Fatal Errors Of Money Making Blogs

“How To Make Money” is a very saturated niche in the world of blogging. Wayne Liew Dot Com is not a “How To Make Money” blog as I don’t specifically blog on things that will help you make money. Normally, a blog on “How To Make Money” will have a lot of followers. There are a few reasons on why a money making blog will have literally no visitors and followers which I will point out in this post.
Free Hosting

This is a major but logic problem. Setting up a money making blog on those free hosts like Blogger really makes the blog looks cheap. If a blogger or webmaster is really making money, why can’t he afford himself a paid host which is very cheap nowadays? Even some bloggers who are not earning money online and don’t monetize their blogs can afford a paid host, why can’t these so-called money making experts afford it?
Writer Not Earning
When you want to start an online money making blog, be sure that you are already making a fortune from the Internet. If not, don’t start the blog. No people will follow you with your first time and not guaranteed experiments. Don’t ever think of faking your earnings, people know how much substance that you have when they read your articles.
Banner Spam Sites
Newbie money making sites tend to have more banners than words. Readers will simply look at these sites as spam sites and leave immediately. There is no way you can make money by simple putting tones of affiliate banners up without any relevant contents.
Using Nicknames
Do you notice that more and more information bloggers are disclosing their names in their blog rather than using their nicknames? This is to improve our credibility. We exist and we back our contents with our names and personality. When you put your real name up, people will trust what you write more since the contents have been supported with your own name.
Shallow Coverage On Services
Shallow reviews on a money making service or just some good reviews of a money making service won’t make people sign up under you. Although pointing out a bad of a money making service might seems to you that you are driving people from signing up under you, you actually gave a clearer view of the service and I bet visitors will be more willing to sign up if they think they have seen much of the bad things and they think they can handle it.
One Way Traffic

Have you came across articles that keep pushing you to sign up for something or to buy a product? Will you really go and sign up because they tried all their best stuffing the thing into your pocket? No, right? This is another logic. People need time to think. Successful pre-sale articles can make a product sell without applying pressure on a customer. If your push your customers too hard, they will leave and without your customers, your business is as good as dead.
Conclusion
Do you own a money making blog? Maybe you can try sharing with me how hard it is to maintain your blog or some wonderful experiences you came across. Do you come across a money making blog which you really enjoy their contents and what makes you leave these money making blogs? Tell me about it. ![]()
the title suppose to be how not to make money, ha ha
Hosting a money making blog using free platform is just way too wrong. Usually I won’t bother about it at all LOL…
Making money blogs on free platform? I guarantee the way is 99.99% not working. lolz. Well I only make money thru writing pay posts in my spam blog, and some “clicks” that’s all..
I put my full name because I don’t hide behind a nick. KLJS is essentially my name in shortform.
I originally started blogging, because it was the “in” thing at that time. Put up adsense not to make money, but as a “bonus” for blogging. My motto is I blog for myself, I don’t blog for others. You want to read my blog, you come read, don’t want I don’t mind.

However, using free hosting also can make money lar, only if your blog is good enough or out of the ordinary, that people will visit, no matter what. For this, you probably need to be a very good coder of html and such or something like that…..
I love the writer not earning one. Why would anyone think they should follow steps that are unknown. I would like to blog on how to make money but I haven’t made any money blogging yet.
I have however run many different online business channels like ebay, amazon, miva, etc so I blog about that. In that subject I have a fighting chance to know what I am talking about.
Oh, and my name is Scott
What great tips…I think you are right though that a money making blog shouldn’t be on a free hosting site. That does look kinda tacky. Thanks for these tips!!
Writer Not Earning - most important factor I think. To blog a “make money blog” the writer must show “how he make money”.
With John Chow’s blog, there’s been an explosion of blogs on the net about making money. Those sites that simply rehash posts simply won’t stand out from the crowd and grow.
It’s those sites that go above and beyond with their content and style of writing that will be noticed and ultimately do well.
I blog to keep track on my profit and loss from stock market. If i earn some from ads then is added bonus.
@ clement
Next time I guess.
@ Irene
Yes, and due to the freedom in customising their site being restricted, some sites look so spammy to me.
@ yung .
That is a niche you can blog on as well. Teach people how to write great paid posts.
@ kljs
People blog for different reasons and as long as you like it, people can’t teach you what you want.
I start blogging with a blogspot blog as well. A personal blog, made some money and now, I am paying my host with the money I earned. With this, I am proud that I don’t need to pay anything to blog.
@ Scott
I knew your name long ago.
I know you are having stores as well by reading your posts. Make money blogging is a great niche but many just try to get people to be their white mice.
@ JC Carvill
Thanks for commenting! I hope you can be back often!
@ dott-com
Yes, and this is why most bloggers who posted their PayPal incoming funds details are the ones who really get hold of their visitors.
@ gadgets
I hope I can get to see your new site real soon!
Yes, uniqueness and creativity is very important if you are blogging in a saturated niche.
@ Phillip
I don’t see any stock market related posts in your blog though, only some links. Do you have other blogs?
thats a great tips! some are rather uesful for me.. am thinking of gettin more domain.. wat u think?
Will you mind wait for a few days? A post on this will be up soon. Sorry…
I agree with you completely, what is the good of a make money site on free hosting? Obviously the owner isn’t making the money they are claiming to. Also, you mention not to fill your site with ads. This is a huge mistake in any niche that webmasters make everyday. People absolutely stuff their brand new sites with ads, and what is accomplished by this? Nothing, you may get a few clicks, but you provide nothing useful other than ads that out to another site.
Great post.
Well, free hosting doesn’t make people look cheap, but those domain names from free hosting do look cheap. However there is people who is making big money from free hosting though.
@ Craig
I guess small amount of ads is good but some just gone too far with it.
@ Nicholas
I guess not. Blogger blogs tend to have their own comment place and that really sink their ship. I am talking about money making blogs, it is logic to think that “Why are them still using a free host if they are making big bucks?”
I know there are some who used free host as a money maker and I know they are some who are successful but with so many dot coms being launched nowadays, I don’t think money making sites hosted free of charge will have a status sooner or later.
Interesting points. The fact that not disclosing your name hurts your authority is true, IMO 100%, you are damn right here.
Thanks for your first comment made. You have a nice site on blogging there. Please come back often!
I think the most fatal error in the money making blog is not give out VALUE.
Actually, some of the best tips about how to make money online is from new blogger, because they are desperate for attention. And if you are experience enough, you already know what is working and what is not working … all you need is a new twist from a new blogger or customer point of view:)
Well, I have money making blog, and it’s the worst return of investment of all my websites until I try it, duh! The only reason I still keep it is because it’s represent my interest and passion for me to continue to learn and connect with this industry.
Anyway, I like your blog, it’s good to see more and more talented fellow Malaysia start blogging.
Hiya Wayne,
Just pop by to say hi. I’m really impressed by your blog. A lot of love and patience put into this. Keep up the great work, Wayne. Kudos to you!
Keep in touch.

@ Ken
This is why I recommend people to only start a money making blog only after they are making money. What do you mean by VALUE there? Mind to explain?
Making money is everyone’s passion. Even if you are not blogging for money, I am sure you will be doing something for money. Money is the medium for survival.
@ Matt
Another new site coming up eh?
Thanks for the complements. I like your site and I am testing the waters of IM. I hope I can learn something great from you.
i c,
Value = Benefit = High Perceived Information = Related Useful Information
Site that provide value is … you have benefit after reading it:) Anyway, life is way too boring if we doing something for money for survival:P It’s better to think another way around, passion to live life to the fullest, money will come your way. Why settle for money?
I now know what the VALUE means.
I know, like I am now blogging because of my passion but let’s put it this way, we want to live our life with passion but can you go through the “passionate life” without money?
Writer not earning? Think again! I started my blog when I started my journey into making money online and I still have not earned a single cent yet my blog continues to get new readers daily. Bless ‘em, they are all urging me to monetize the blog now heh.
I know but the money making blogs I mean here is just a site purely on guiding people how to make money and they will not be posting something like blogging guides. The reason I go to read your blogs is because the value of the articles which I always like it and not the I MAKE $0 WITH MY BLOG.
Some, I should say average joe web surfers or bloggers tend to hyped up when they see people posting their earning stats. Some bloggers, who dreamt for catching these visitors, tend to fake their pie charts.
It is easy to deal with the good sides of the products or programs we’re about to join, everybody can accept it.
but it’s better that we know the downsides to find out if we can live with them.
telling an objective review can also mean that we grant the readers the freedom to decide instead of forcing them with sales pitches
I agree. Moneymaking in free sites is not feasible. I tried it myself.
