You won’t get anywhere without promoting your blog…
Marketing is queen.

A king alone can’t have any offsprings, a quiet palace, no princes, no princesses etc.

When there is only a queen and no king, it is more or less the same.

Both are important, but king must come first, then queen.

Showing social proof doesn't get you that many links instantly but it entices your one time visitors to become royal readers, which in turn results in backlinks over a period of time... If you want to build backlinks, you have to do marketing. People say content is king, well it's really not. You won't get anywhere without promoting your blog... Appearing on social bookmarking sites’ frontpage and making a plugin (a good one) are, in my opinion, generate most of the backlinks and pretty quickly. Showing social proof doesn’t get you that many links instantly but it entices your one time visitors to become royal readers, which in turn results in backlinks over a period of time…
