20 Ways to Get Constant Post Level Links [Part 1] got quite a good response and with this post, I hope most of my blogging readers out there can utilize these methods to build more incoming links via post level links.
As I have mentioned in the previous part,
Bloggers don’t simply link to other blogs since linking out sends readers away and not only that, bloggers will suffer a hit to their reputation in the niche with a bad recommendation.
Post level links are easier to sought for compared to blogroll links on the sidebars since in every new post on a blog, 2-4 or even near to 10 links for link posts can be included in a blog post.
Links come with traffic but links also bring traffic and this is why you should continue reading on the other 10 tips on how to get constant post level links.
10 Methods To Get Constant Post Level Links
Buy them
Easiest method ever to have constant post level links pointing to your blog is to purchase them. Text Link Ads is one of the advertising platforms that offer post level links advertising. The good thing about this, SEO wise, is that the links are not prominent as compared to a link on the sidebar.

If you purchase 10 sidebar links (site-wide for most blogs) on blogs with, say, over 300 pages (blogs with high Page Rank often have high number of indexed pages), you will have an instant incoming links jump of 3,000 in just one or two days. This will certainly bring your massive incoming links improvement under Google’s radar.
Also, purchasing post level links can be done at a cheaper price and mostly, this is done to build search engines keywords ranking.
Exchange deals
If you don’t have the resources to get involved in the "lucrative" business above, you can always set up a post level link exchange. Post level link exchange is recommended by me even though many don’t recommend link exchanges. I would say that such sayings is the biggest myth on search engine optimization.
Relevance should come in when planning such deals. I am sure you don’t want your readers to be reading your post on dogs and suddenly pops in a line "Britney Spears sex tape"
line. The best of all will be exchange of links that can be integrated into the post instead of a list on the sidebar, directly boosting the relevance of the links exchanged.
Happenings creator
Creating controversy, great story-telling, creative and unexpected writings are evergreen linkbaiting posts. Not everyone can do this but if you are creative enough, the reward can be very attractive.
A case study for such a method will be the Cow Kidnapping Case. John made up a page for just one day to fool around with his readers. It was funny but it was a great piece of linkbait as well. Salute!
Inter-blog conversations
Inter-blog conversation is something that not many bloggers will do. This is more than blogging or building your post on content of others. Inter-blog conversations will include questions directed to the source blogger about their article that you are writing about.

Having inter-blog conversations frequently with various bloggers within your niche will help to build post level links fast since there is no way they have a conversation with you without linking to you!
Create a plugin
On the previous part of this series, I mentioned about themes. Well, if you are good in coding but more on the plugins field, you can create and distribute one useful plugin for your blogging platform’s users.
Useful plugins can become famous instantly for the blog of the plugin creator. Just look at your plugin list, how many of it will be used on other blogs and being mentioned just because the bloggers are using it?
High search engine placements
High search engine placement for keywords that are general such as "Post Level Links" or maybe "Match Driven Skills Drilling" for a sports blog can bring in future post level links.
Bloggers will collaborate technical information with other resources online. Some of them refer to authority blogs but still, many uses the search engine. If you post appears high in the search results, a link might be given to you for the use of reference for their readers.
Show your blog earnings, or fake it
This is not a happening. This is a human nature that will not be changing unless money is nothing on Earth. Ask yourself, if you happens to read John Chow dot com, you will find that posts that summarizes his earnings for a particular month will get tonnes of comments and if you read other money making blogs, they will be talking about John’s earnings.
This is indeed a fact. You can see at the start of every month that many blogs will be comparing earnings of bloggers with another bloggers. Thus, announce your earnings. If you don’t have something to boast, just add in the numbers randomly to furbish things a little bit.
Internal linking
You can get the links to your previous posts that you have written without going for other ways which requires you to impress others. Internal linking within your own blog posts does not only help distributing link juice to your posts within your blog, they will also help you in your efforts of getting high search engine rankings for keywords that you target because you determine what is the anchor text for the links.
Another good and common benefit of internal linking other than the above is to guide your readers deeper and deeper into your blog, showing them other masterpieces of yours.
Launch or participative in blogging activities
Once in a while you will see blogging carnivals which bloggers gather their writings on a particular topic together. If you launch such carnivals frequently or join them, post level links will come in as well because you articles or blog carnival will get mentioned by those bloggers who participated.
However, please note that you must try to build up a large base of readers before launching a blog carnival since holding one that has little participants will not only fail you in meeting your aim, it will also degrades the impression by current readers about your blog. Some blogs that hold blogging carnivals in the past that I knew are BlogsReview.net - Why Do You Blog? and Daily Blog Tips’ Blog Projects.
Social bookmarking sites effect
Social media is really everything in 2008, especially if you have watched StomperNet’s latest video on social media marketing. The effect of your articles frequently featured on social bookmarking sites will bring in links as well as traffic.
The reason of this is people often turn to social bookmarking sites when they are facing a blogger’s block or wanted to offer their readers quality news. The cool thing about social bookmarking sites effect is that your piece of article can be viral, meaning featuring on Digg will also mean featuring on top blogs as well as other social bookmarking sites!

Appearing on social bookmarking sites’ frontpage and making a plugin (a good one) are, in my opinion, generate most of the backlinks and pretty quickly. Showing social proof doesn’t get you that many links instantly but it entices your one time visitors to become royal readers, which in turn results in backlinks over a period of time…
If you want to build backlinks, you have to do marketing. People say content is king, well it’s really not. You won’t get anywhere without promoting your blog…

@Ruchir:
People say content is king, well it’s really not.
Content is king.
You won’t get anywhere without promoting your blog…
Marketing is queen.
A king alone can’t have any offsprings, a quiet palace, no princes, no princesses etc.
When there is only a queen and no king, it is more or less the same.
Both are important, but king must come first, then queen.

@Wayne:
What do you think about the 20 post level link building tips that I have given?
Useful? Let me see now…
1. Definition articles
Yes, this one, I have been wanting to do these kind of thingies for some time, but have yet to allocate out time for it.
2.Great blog design
I think my site’s design is quite clean, though the loading time could be better optimized.
Personally, I feel that a site which looks clean and loads fast are normally quite appealing to tech savvy mofos?
unique usability such as scrolling sideways instead of vertically and bombastic graphical elements.
I would not call “scrolling sideways” very usable, unique yes, but I think it is totally not practical at all.
Bombastic screenies? Yes. Sex sells and I am practicing it.
Got a complaint from my mate - Vic though.
Need to take a peek first before attempting to browse further.
He said he dare not open my site when he is in office.
Said that my site became NSFW site.
make sure that your blog screenshot and the design will make visitors go WOW on first impression.
How to update our screenies?
3.Get your blog or articles featured on big blogs, FREQUENTLY
Okay, this is hard for me to achieve. Haven’t achieved this feat yet.
I got somewhat featured once in your site though.
4. Give out links
Yeah, I have been doing this. Results vary.
I am happy with the reciprocative mofos.
Take notes of who the stingy mofos are ……
5. Thank the linkers
Yeah, I thank the mofos who gimme some link love.
Usually by going to their sites and replying on the article which they linked me. If the site interests me I will look around for topics that interests me.
6. Ongoing linking contest
Been wanting to do this for quite some time also.
Prizes does not exactly have to be very tangible thingies.
There are thingies can be valuable but not tangible.
7. Participation in blogs giving out links
I think there are a few EntreCarders doing this.
Saphrym is one of them.
8. Networking with link givers
Network with people sincerely, like I always said.
9. Make yourself an icon within your niche
Oh! Now we’re going celebrity!
I much prefer a low profile (but high traffic for my site) hahaha.
10. Theme database
I think I will pass this one. Not enough time to do everything.
Oh by the way, know what? I feel that N.Design Studios’ themes is extremely popular! Every blog I go, I feel like seeing my clones. -_-
Yes, my theme is based upon N. Design Studios’ theme.
I worked hard on it to make it does not resemble the original N. Design Studios’ theme. Not sure how successful I am in that. Tell me about it.
11. Buy them
Okay this one sounds lame, I’ll pass.
I thought Big-G is against buying and selling of links?
12. Exchange deals
I think this is what is happening with most blogs right?
“Hey XXX lets exchange links!”
“Put me on your blogroll and I’ll do the same for you!”
etc etc
13. Happenings creator
One must be a creative mofo for this to work, aye.
14. Inter-blog conversations
Don’t quite understand this one, simple English! I’m a dumb mofo!
15. Create a plugin
Okay this one is awesome! I totally want to do this!
However, I have yet to read up the official how to write a Wordpress plugin guide by Wordpress.org
I emailed myself a copy of that guide page in my gmail account though.
24 hours a day is not enough arghh!
I spent 5 hours on daily sleep already. -_-
16. High search engine placements
Oh this one! This is one of the reasons for my source of traffic.
17. Show your blog earnings, or fake it
I’ll pass this one. -_-
18. Internal linking
Yeap. I’m doing this one. Rakes in high amount of page views.
Nice Alexa Page View count.
19. Launch or participative in blogging activities
What is a blogging carnival?
20. Social bookmarking sites effect
Stumble Upon is nice. I experienced minor Stumble Effect before.
Digg sucks. Period.
What do you think about the 20 post level link building tips that I have given?

Eh, I think I just covered that in the above list.
What other ways that you can think of which can help in building post level links?
I am a newbie, remember?
Dried out my brain juice finishing this reply. -_-
Will write when I think of something.
Cheers, mate.

@ Ruchir
I will not emphasize on the saying that content is King as some blogs out there succeed with just plain marketing. However, without marketing but wanted to spread the name of your blog is impossible.
@ Deimos
You have just broke your own record here. I have never seen any replies like this. Trust me, with this reply on Problogger which most of the posts are in point form as well, you will get a lot of attention, even from Darren himself.
If you wanted to create a plugin, you must know what are the needs of current bloggers but nothing out there is to solve their needs. It is hard but there will be some gap.
An alternative for getting ideas will be copy the idea of some premium plugins and release it for free.

I’ve heard “content is king” many many times. I hadn’t heard “marketing is queen” before! So true!
March 20th, 2008 at 5:53 pm
In fact, both of them go hand in hand. If you don’t have any one of them in your blogging journey, you will not go far.
